We are proud to announce the 10th Annual Bloomington AIDS Walk. HIV remains a significant health issue in our community, with nearly 200 individuals living with HIV in Monroe County and almost 500 individuals living with the disease in the region. As HIV infection rates have stabilized, the disease no longer garners the national attention it was once given, yet the threat persists. The 2014 Btown AIDS Walk will provide our community the chance to remember those we have lost, celebrate those who continue to fight, and give hope to a future that will one day no longer include HIV.
All proceeds of the Bloomington AIDS Walk benefit IU Health Positive Link. Positive Link is the preeminent provider of comprehensive prevention and holistic social services for those struggling with HIV and AIDS in south central Indiana. This organization provides comprehensive HIV prevention and education programs as well as coordinated client care and case management throughout a 20 county area in southern Indiana. Most services provided by Positive Link are free of charge. The Btown AIDSWalk is an opportunity for you, your friends, and your community to join together to help the fight against AIDS by raising funds for AIDS prevention, research, and education. Teams are welcomed so start your own or donate to help a friend with theirs. There is a competition to see which teams will raise the most for this great cause, so let’s dig in and get to work! Come walk with us, start a team, donate some time, effort, and money to help save lives and provide a better future for everyone.
Join us at Showers Plaza on Saturday March 29th at 9:30 am to register. The Btown AIDSWalk steps off at 10:30 am for a good time and a great cause.
Stick around for our first annual AIDS Walk Raffle immediately following the walk. We have prizes ranging from $10-$100 in value. Tickets are $1 each or 6/$5, so get yours today! >
