Light up the night for the 12th annual Bloomington AIDS Walk on Friday, April 22nd.
All proceeds raised from the event support Positive Link. Positive Link is the preeminent provider of comprehensive prevention and holistic social services for those impacted by HIV in south central Indiana.
Online Registration for the 2016 “Light the Night” Bloomington AIDS Walk is now open. Remember, the AIDS Walk takes place on Friday, April 22nd at the parking lot on 3rd and College.
CHECK-IN/REGISTRATION: Registration and check-in will open at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm. The family festival will start at 5:30pm. The festival will feature games and many other family friendly activities. The walk will begin promptly at 8:00pm. We encourage you to arrive early to have time to register/check-in, pick up t-shirt and glow items, and to organize your team.
WHAT TO WEAR: You should dress in casual clothing. We encourage walkers to wear the AIDS Walk t-shirts they receive at check-in. If you are part of a team, we encourage you to dress alike in similar team colors or apparel to show your unified support for the cause. The walk is glow-themed so feel free to come dressed in your favorite glow or neon attire!
WHAT TO BRING: Signs to carry with your team name or slogans that support the cause-extra money in case you want to buy food, 50/50 tickets, refreshments or merchandise at the Walk. We will be selling extra AIDS Walk t-shirts, water bottles, and glow items.
AWARDS: Raise $100 more on your personal fundraising page and receive a free AIDS Walk water bottle!
- Highest Fundraising Individual – Choice of 2-day passes to Hoosier Heights Indoor Climbing Gym ($80 value) OR a 1-hour massage gift certificate
- Second Highest Fundraising Individual – 2-day passes to Hoosier Heights Indoor Climbing Gym OR a 1-hour massage gift certificate (whichever is not chosen by the first place winner)
- Top Fundraising Team – The Top Fundraising Team will be awarded a PIZZA PARTY!! donated by Aver’s Pizza
- Top Fundraising Student Organization – A new award for the top fundraising student group will be given this year in memory of Kate Mullen, a past Positive Link staff member who was instrumental in planning the AIDS Walk and getting students involved in the event. The winning team will receive a recognition plaque and will be added to a perpetual recognition plaque that will be displayed in the Positive Link Office.
PARKING: Parking is limited for the AIDS walk. Walkers can park on city streets (metered parking) or in the 4th Street Parking Garage (free for first three hours and after 6:00pm).
